Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
The short version
- Dictation is recognised on your Mac. Your voice recordings are not sent online.
- Your dictation history, clipboard history, dictionaries and meeting recordings stay on your Mac. We cannot see them.
- Cloud commands send your words and the active window to the AI service you choose. Only when you ask for it - while you hold the cloud-command key - Aissia sends the text of what you said (recognised on your Mac, never the recording) together with the content of the active window, or the text you selected, to the service you picked: your ChatGPT account or Aissia's servers.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash-report uploads. We do not sell personal data.
- If you sign in, we receive your email address and an account ID from Google sign-in, to run your trial and subscription.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data described here is Has.Pet Ltd., a company incorporated in the Republic of Cyprus, company registration number HE492821, registered office KPMG Center, 1st Floor, Agias Fylaxeos Street 1, 3025 Limassol, Cyprus ("we", "us").
Privacy contact: support@aissia.com.
This policy covers the Aissia app for Mac and the website aissia.com. You must be 18 or older to use Aissia.
2. What stays on your Mac
Most of Aissia works without sending anything anywhere. The following data is created and kept only on your Mac. We have no copy and no access to it.
| Data | What it is | How long it is kept | Your control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dictation audio | The recording of what you say, used to recognise your words | Deleted about 1 hour after the dictation; a recording that failed to process, after 24 hours | Automatic |
| Dictation history | Your last 50 dictated texts | Until replaced or cleared | Clear it, or turn history off, in the menu or Settings |
| Clipboard history | Text you copy in any app, except items that apps mark as private or temporary (for example from password managers) | Last 50 items; pinned items until you remove them | Turn it off or clear it in Settings |
| AI results | The last 50 drafts and answers produced by AI help | Until replaced or cleared | Settings |
| Dictionaries and learned corrections | Words and names you add, replacements, and corrections Aissia learns (which may include the name of the app you were in and short before/after text samples) | Until you remove them | Settings |
| Meeting notes | Your microphone and the call's sound, the transcript, notes, summary, and participant names read from the call window | Audio: 30 days by default. Transcripts and notes: until you delete them | Delete meetings in the app; change the audio period in Settings |
| Usage statistics | Monthly counts, such as words dictated or corrections made; no text | Until you delete them | Settings |
| App log | Technical events, app names and sizes. Your words are not written to the log unless you turn on "Write recognised text to the log" | Rotated at 8 MB | Settings |
| Crash diagnostics | Error codes, app and macOS versions, processor type and memory size | 7 days | Never uploaded; you can export them yourself to send to us |
| Sign-in and access records | Sign-in tokens, and a local copy of your trial and subscription state so Aissia keeps working offline, in the macOS Keychain on this Mac | Sign-in tokens until you sign out | Sign out in Settings |
Keyboard and screen. For layout correction and sentence clean-up, Aissia reads what you type with the macOS Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions. That text is processed in memory and by Aissia's own programs on your Mac; only the learned corrections above are saved. If you grant Screen Recording, Aissia can read the text of a window with Apple's on-device text recognition when you ask for AI help. The window image never leaves your Mac.
Speech models. Recognition uses speech models downloaded to your Mac. During setup, Aissia asks whether to download the first speech model. You can skip it and download the model later in Settings (section 3.3).
You can remove Aissia's local data yourself with the controls above, or by removing the app together with ~/Library/Application Support/Aissia, ~/Library/Logs/Aissia and the com.aissia settings.
3. What leaves your Mac, and why
3.1 Your Aissia account (Google sign-in)
You need an Aissia account to continue after the trial and to use AI help. You sign in with Google, through our authentication provider Supabase.
- What we receive: your email address, an account ID, and the date the account was created, which starts your trial clock.
- What Supabase and Google process: the sign-in itself, which happens in your browser. As part of Google sign-in, Google shares your basic profile - your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID - with our Supabase project, which also records technical details of each sign-in, such as its time and IP address, for security.
- While you are signed in, Aissia renews the sign-in in the background, at launch and shortly before it expires. Only sign-in tokens are exchanged.
- Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Kept: until you delete your account, and deleted within 30 days after that.
- Where: Supabase, London (United Kingdom).
Account records on our servers. To run your trial and subscription, our servers keep an account record: your account ID, a hashed form of your Google account identifier, the Macs signed in to your account (an installation ID and a device key for each), your trial start and end dates, and your subscription state - plan, billing period, paid-through date, and the customer and subscription IDs Stripe uses for you. We use these records to give you access, to limit a subscription to two Macs and to prevent repeat trials. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). They are kept while your account exists and deleted within 30 days after you delete it, except billing records we must keep by law. Where: Amazon Web Services, London (United Kingdom).
3.2 AI help (cloud commands)
AI help - reply, explain, rewrite, translate, meeting summaries - uses AI models that run in the cloud, not on your Mac. AI help (cloud commands) runs only when you ask for it: while you hold the cloud-command key (Right Option by default), or when you confirm "Create notes" after a meeting. Holding the key sends your request straight away; Aissia tells you about this during setup, and ordinary dictation is never sent.
What is sent: your instruction - what you said, as text recognised on your Mac, or what you typed - and the text the request is about, up to about 12,000 characters. Aissia takes that text from, in order: your selection; the text of the front window (read through Accessibility); or text recognised on your Mac from a window image, if you allowed Screen Recording. It also sends information about the open window, such as the app's name, and may send your reply signature name, your per-app reply preferences and the Aissia version. Audio is never sent - your instruction travels as text. Numbers that look like payment-card numbers are masked, and password managers are skipped.
The window text can include anything shown in that window, such as other people's messages, names or email addresses. Do not use a cloud command on a window you do not want to share with that service.
Where it goes depends on the service you chose in Aissia's AI settings:
- Your ChatGPT subscription (via Codex). Aissia hands the request to OpenAI's Codex program installed on your Mac, which sends it to OpenAI under your own ChatGPT account. The data goes from your Mac to OpenAI; we do not receive it. OpenAI processes it as your provider, under OpenAI's terms and privacy policy. Aissia asks Codex not to keep the conversation, but what OpenAI and Codex retain is decided by them and your ChatGPT settings. For requests such as finding a company's public contact details, Codex may search the web.
- Aissia's servers. The request goes to our servers on Amazon Web Services in London, which pass it to an AI model from Google (Gemini), OpenAI or Anthropic (Claude) to produce the answer. These providers act as our processors. We may keep logs of requests, including their content, to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, for as long as we need them for those purposes and no longer than 90 days, unless a specific log is needed to investigate abuse or a security incident. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Meeting summaries work the same way and send the meeting transcript and participant names; recording and transcription themselves stay on your Mac. Only record a meeting with everyone's consent.
3.3 Speech-model downloads
During setup, Aissia asks before downloading the first speech model. If you skip it, you can download a speech model later in Settings. Aissia may also download correction models when you enable the related local text feature, and it downloads a model when you choose another one. Models come from GitHub, Hugging Face, and aissia.com. These are ordinary file downloads: no account data, recordings or text are sent. The servers see your IP address and the standard technical details of a web request. Downloads from aissia.com come from our Amazon Web Services hosting described in section 4. GitHub and Hugging Face process the request under their own privacy policies.
3.4 Buying a subscription
Subscriptions are sold by Has.Pet Ltd. through Stripe Managed Payments, with Stripe acting as merchant of record for the payment. Stripe collects your payment details, name, email address, billing address and country, and processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, to take the payment, charge taxes, issue invoices, handle refunds and prevent fraud. We never receive your full card number. From Stripe we receive what we need to run your subscription: your email address, country, the plan, its status and period, and payment and refund events.
- Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Kept: while your subscription is active and afterwards for as long as we need it to handle refunds, disputes and our own records, and for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
3.5 Contacting us
If you write to support@aissia.com, we use your message and address to answer you. We keep support correspondence for as long as it is useful to handle follow-up requests and to keep a record of what was agreed; you can ask us to delete it. Crash diagnostics or logs reach us only if you choose to attach them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. The website aissia.com
- No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content. Scripts, styles and fonts come from our own site or your device.
- The site stores nothing in your browser: no cookies and no local storage.
- The site and downloads are served by Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 in London and the CloudFront delivery network). As with any website, their servers process your IP address and request details to deliver the pages. Our hosting may keep access logs - IP address, time, requested page and browser details - to keep the site secure and fix problems, for a limited period of no longer than 90 days.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. What we do not do
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking in the app or on the website.
- The app does not upload crash reports, usage statistics or device identifiers, and does not check for updates on its own.
- We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we use our AI providers only under terms that do not allow them to train their models on it.

7. International transfers
We are established in Cyprus (EU). Where a recipient processes personal data outside the EEA or the UK, including in the United States, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism: the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for UK transfers) or an adequacy decision or certification where available. You can ask for a copy of the safeguards that apply to a transfer by writing to support@aissia.com.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. Write to support@aissia.com; we answer within one month, as the GDPR requires. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - for example the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (our lead authority), the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the authority in your country of residence.
Deleting your account. You can delete your Aissia account in the app's settings or by writing to support@aissia.com. We delete your account data within 30 days; Stripe keeps its own purchase records under its legal obligations. Data stored only on your Mac is not affected - remove it as described in section 2.
9. Children
Aissia is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us personal data, write to support@aissia.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
Sign-in tokens and trial records are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac only. The app log and dictation recordings are readable only by your macOS user. Connections to our services use HTTPS. No method is perfectly secure; if you find a problem, write to support@aissia.com.
11. Changes to this policy
We post changes here with a new date and, where the law requires it, tell you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect.
